Estate / Wagon: These cars can acommodate up to 4 passengers and will carry 3 large size suitcases or 4 passengers and 4 medium size suitcases.

Minivans: These vehicles are perfect for airport transfers, offering more space and comfort compared to regular cars. This vehicle can accommodate up to 4 passengers with 4 large size suitcases or 4 passengers with 6 medium size suitcases maximum. Also, this is the perfect vehicle to transport other items such as folding bycicles or golf clubs, that don’t fit into a normal car boot.

Minibus: Minibuses are a versatile option for airport transfers, offering seating for larger groups ranging from 5-8 passengers. They provide ample space for passengers and their luggage and can accommodate up to 6 large size suitcases at the most or 8 passengers plus 10 medium size suitcases. 

How quick can I get a cab?

Pickups from York City Centre typically take between 5 and 15 minutes, while pickups from villages outside the York outer ring road generally take around 30 minutes.

What happens if my taxi booking is rejected?

If we are unable to accommodate your journey and must reject your booking request, you will receive an email notification, and your payment will be immediately reversed.

Please note that payment is taken ONLY if your booking is ACCEPTED.

To check availability, simply submit your booking request online through our website. Our dedicated operators will immediately process your request upon receipt. They’ll meticulously review the details for accuracy and promptly check our availability for the specified date and time.

If we can accommodate your booking, we’ll swiftly send you a confirmation email and securely charge your card. It’s important to note that payment is only processed once your booking is confirmed, ensuring peace of mind for our customers.

In the rare instance that we’re unable to fulfill your booking due to unavailability, we’ll promptly reject the booking and ensure that your funds are promptly returned to your account. Your satisfaction and convenience are our top priorities at all times.

How do I Cancel my Booking?

Is There A Charge To Cancel My Booking?
Yes, if you cancel your booking, you will be charged as per the following table of charges.

Cancellations must be made by you using our website. You will be entitled to a refund, depending on when you cancel your Booking, as follows:

(ii) If you cancel your booking with more than 24 hours before to the pickup time, you will be entitled to a full refund minus the transaction charge taken by the bank (usually 3%, depending on your bank).

(ii) If you cancel your booking between 24 hours to 12 hours prior to the pickup time, you will be entitled to a refund equivalent to 50% of the value of your booking.

(iii) If you cancel your booking with less than 12 hours before pickup time, you will not be entitled to any refund.

In the event that you cancel your booking directly with the driver, you will be asked by us to confirm your cancellation via email.

What if my flight was cancelled?

In the event your flight is cancelled by the airline, you may be able to claim compensation under the European Passenger Rights Regulation EC 261/04. You can find more information on the citizens advice website.

Why do we have a cancellation charge?

The service we offer is a pre-booked service, when you book your vehicle, a driver is allocated for that day. The driver will then make sure they keep that vehicle allocated for you. If you cancel, the driver scheduled to carry out the booking will lose out on a job. It will not be possible for the us to re-allocate another booking for that driver for that time of the day and that type of vehicle with less the 24 hours’ notice.

Can I appeal against a cancellation charge?

Yes, you can, if you believe that you have been charged unfairly, please contact us at quickcars.yorktaxis@gmail. com.

How long will the driver wait for me?

A 5-minute wait is included for all standard pickups. A 20-minute wait is included for airport pickups (unless otherwise stated). Even if your driver has arrived early, your included waiting time starts from the time your ride is booked for. After you have exceeded the waiting time it will be the driver’s discretion as to what the charge will be, Typically the charge is around £10 per 30 mins. If you feel you are overcharged, please contact us to see if we can assist you.

How Long Does It Take To Process A Refund?

If your booking has been rejected, it means our operators have check the booking details and we don’t have availability for your booking time/date. In this case, the transaction is cancelled and payment should bounce back into your account straight away. Payment is taken only if a booking is accepted.

Refunds are done on the day the job is cancelled but will take 3 to 5 working days to show in your bank account. However, if you are using an international bank account the refund can take up to 10 working days. 

Why does it take 3 to 5 days working days?

The refund process on card payments is unfortunately slow. We process the refund back on the card the same day but the money takes a few days to work its way back through the banking system. This is the process and system controlled by the banks. It typically only takes 3 working days but each bank is different. Also, allow for the fact foreign banks can sometimes have different working days.

If you are still waiting for your refund after 5 days please contact us so we can investigate.  Common reasons why a refund might fail is an expired card or card been reported lost or stolen. 

Please do not send us your card details in any ticket, we will only ever ask you to confirm the last 4 digits of the card and or the card type.
